Providing planning advice for over a decade to the joint venture partnership between Durham County Council and Dysart Developments charged with the redevelopment of the 700 acre former Consett Steelworks site. Planning permissions have been secured for a variety of uses: a 7,500sqm Tesco store; 1,000 houses including executive and affordable homes; a drive-thru Starbucks; 14 business / industrial units; a restaurant and non-food retail units.

Work is on-going using a masterplan approach to secure certainty for further development by seeking a strategic policy for the Project Genesis site in the new Durham Local Plan.
