Spenhill Developments, Gateshead Town Centre
A four-year project, whilst with Development Planning Partnership (DPP), to provide planning advice and secure planning permission for the £112m redevelopment of Gateshead Town Centre including the demolition of the iconic ‘Get Carter’ car park, development of a new 8,500sqm Tesco food store, re-establishment of Trinity Square with a variety of new shops, cafes, restaurants and bars, a hotel, office accommodation, 993 student flats for Northumbria University and a town centre car park. At the heart of Trinity Square is a gravity-defying work of art titled ‘Halo’ designed by local artist Steve Newby.
